“I am a 6th class teacher in the above school, and we attended a workshop / school tour organised by Edel Heeran of Laois Outdoor Education on May 26th 2017 in Emo Court. I am writing to highly recommend this workshop and thank Edel for a very enjoyable, educational and well-organised tour. Edel greeted us on arrival in the carpark, and was friendly, informative, patient and interesting. The tour involved a perfect balance between indoors and outdoors, history and ecology, and the children responded very well to Edel’s gentle manner. The tour guide in Emo House, Martina, was also outstanding and delivered an engaging and memorable session, which held the children’s attention. I encourage all local teachers and schools to consider booking this ‘Lords Ladies & Minibeasts’ workshop – they will not be disappointed.”

“The children were learning and absorbing information unbeknownst to themselves as they were so active.” “They thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was pitched so well to their age – they were treated at such an appropriate age level by tutor / guides”. “The workshop was completely safe yet not restrictive”. “The guides and instructors were wonderful at working with the students – as a result the pupils responded so positively”. “History, Geography, Science all included as well as wonderful oral language development (English curriculum). So much scope for art through looking at and sketching both architecture / design of the house and the nature outside, such as trees and woodland etc. A great day for all”.
